THE WOLF IS NOT THE VILLAIN

2026, CARDBOARD, ACRYLIC PAINT, OIL PASTEL, BAKING SODA, NATURAL AND SYNTHETIC FIBERS, DIMENSIONS VARIABLE

The Wolf is Not the Villain is rooted in material experimentation and narrative inquiry, weaving together themes of survival, memory, and identity. Inspired by personal reflection and the work of Audre Lorde and Cole Arthur-Riley, it questions contemporary definitions of healing and the role of coping mechanisms. By reframing the “villain,” the piece positions that figure as a site of endurance, transformation, and reclamation.

UNTITLED

Untitled examines the concept of performance and perception. The work explores how we present versions of ourselves to meet others’ expectations and, over time, risk losing our true identity. The work invites viewers to question authenticity and to begin living in alignment with who they are, rather than who they think others want them to be.
